Prof. Nandita Pradhan HEAD OF DEPTT. (Electronics & Information Engg.)
The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is headed by Prof. Nandita Pradhan who has B.E. (Honors) degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering & M.E. (Communication System) from Govt. Engineering College, Jabalpur. She is pursuing Ph.D. & her research topic is Expert System Development for Biomedical Studies using MRI. She has 17 years of research and teaching experience. Her main areas of interest are Communication Systems, Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Signal Processing with applications in Image Processing, Expert System Developments, and Analog & Digital Electronics. Her software projects involve programming in BASIC, FORTRAN, & MATLABs. She has 6 research publication in various International & National Conferences & Journals. She has also reviewed book on Signals & Systems.
The department comprises of strong group of well qualified, diversified, motivated and competent members graduated from NTs, NITs and other reputed institutions.
Faculty members of the department have excelled in their academic careers. Mr. Ashish Shrivastava was a Gold Medallist recipient in his M.Tech. programme at Bhopal and Mr. K.M. Soni was awarded the Silver medal for his M.Tech. at MNREC Allahabad.
Many faculty members have memberships of various professional societies like IETE, ISTE etc. The faculty of EI department are constantly involved in attending various workshops, seminars and short term training programs. Many activities like quizzes, workshops, seminars etc are organized in the department. Faculty members are participated in 12 STTPs, conferences etc. and published 12 papers in various international/national journals and conference proceedings in last three years.
The unique feature of the department is the encouragement, it gives to students to work on projects in thrust areas that include Bio-electronics, Bio-instrumentation, Micro controllers, Robotics and Image Processing. Special mention of projects undertaken in the last two years such as "Remote Control of Robot using FM Transmission and Reception", "GSM Control Robot", "Data Security using Water Marking", "Flexible Traffic Light Controller" need to be made, Interdepartmental projects on "Petrol engine Control Simulation" and "Steganographic algorithm on Image Data" are also undertaken in session 2006-07.
