GCET was affiliated to UPTU for award of the M.Tech.
programme in 2006-2007 after having met all the
essential requirements
of the
UPTU in this regard. The second batch of students is now
to be admitted in the year 2007-2008.
The
Progammes on offer are
•
M.Tech., Computer Science & Engineering
•
M.Tech., Information Technology
•
M.Tech., Electronics and Communication Engineering
The duration of each programme is 2 years divided into 4
semesters. The last two semesters of M. Tech. are
essentially devoted to
thesis work. Please note that this is a full time
programme.
Eligibility
Students
admitted to M.Tech. should have at least
•
60% marks
at B.Tech. level and
•
Either 75
percentile in GATE or student must fall in the list of
top 25% graduates of UPTU graduating batch or have first
division with honours,
or
•
60% marks
at B.Tech. level with two years experience in
teaching/research
Admission Procedure
The last date of receipt of application forms shall be
announced in the newspapers. A short list of candidates
shall be prepared after
the due
date is over. Short listed candidates shall be called
for a test on the basis of which a merit list shall be
prepared. Students
shall be offered admission based on their merit position.
The College may conduct an interview at its discretion
and subject to
provisions of UPTU.
Assistantships
A limited number of teaching assistantships of Rs.
10,000/- per month are available for deserving
candidates. Students availing of
these are
expected to do 10 hours of Departmental work in GCET per
week. This may be for tutorial, laboratory work,
grading,
providing assistance in making teaching learning
material, and other sundry departmental activities
related to academics.
Continuation of the assistantship is reviewed at the end
of each semester and is dependent upon both satisfactory
performance in course
work and as a teaching assistant.
